Faced with the environmental challenges that concern us all, Vardeco has undertaken a number of energy audits in recent years, drawing on the skills of recognized experts (Energie du Jura / Solares Bauen).
The carbon footprint optimization roadmap was validated and three priority projects were successfully carried out:
- The installation of 590 solar panels (Solutec DE) which will generate around 7% of our annual production. We now have 725 panels (we plan to add a further 815 by the end of 2023, bringing internal electricity production to 15% of our needs).
- Refurbishment of our general electrical panel, which will allow us to implement energy management and optimization rules.
- The introduction of Li-Ion batteries means that we can now avoid the power cuts that used to have a major impact on the stability of our production.
